Privacy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Priors needs no account, shows no ads, uses no analytics or advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or sites. This page lists everything the app and our server handle, why, and for how long.

Stays on your device

The topics and companies you follow, saved stories, search history, your reading profile from the first-launch cards, language, theme and notification settings are stored only on your phone. They are never sent to us and are removed when you delete the app.

If you turn on notifications

To send notifications we store: your device's push token (Expo push token), platform (iOS/Android), app language, notification settings and the topics and companies you follow (so we know which stories to notify you about). None of this identifies you. Turning notifications off in the app deletes this record from our server. A token that Apple or Google reports as no longer valid is switched off and deleted after 30 days. Notifications are delivered by Expo's push service through Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM).

Error reports

When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a short report: the error message and technical trace, the screen's name, the app version, platform and operating system version. Reports contain no personal data or identifiers; they are grouped and deleted 30 days after an error was last seen.

Anonymous usage counts

To learn what to improve, the app counts a few actions — opening the app, opening a story and from where (feed, short cards, search, notification…), turning or asking about a short card, choosing a reading mode or layout, sharing and saving — and sends them in batches. Our server keeps only a daily total per action (and per story), without any device id, account, IP address or time of day, so a count cannot be linked to you. You can turn this off in Settings → "Anonymous usage counts"; the app then sends nothing.

Messages you send us

If you write to us from Settings → "Contact Us", your subject and message — and your email address, if you leave one so we can reply — together with the app language, platform and version, are sent by email to our support inbox. Our server keeps no copy; we use them only to answer you, and you can ask us to delete the conversation.

Reports you send

If you report a mistake in a story or a social post, we store what you reported, the reason and your optional note. They are deleted 180 days after we handle them.

Abuse prevention and server logs

To stop automated abuse, notification registrations, error reports, usage counts, messages and reports are counted per visitor with a one-way hash of the IP address that changes every hour; the IP address itself is not stored, and the hashes are deleted within a day. The service runs on Cloudflare, whose request logs (which may include IP addresses) are kept briefly for security and debugging.

Videos and posts from other services

Some screens show YouTube videos and posts from X, Bluesky and Hacker News using those services' own players and embeds. When you view or play them, the service may collect data under its own privacy policy (for example Google's for YouTube). Source links open in your browser, where the site's own policy applies.

AI

Stories are written with AI models from public sources (see how Priors works). No data about you is ever sent to an AI provider.

Your rights and contact

The data controller is OmegaX (İbrahim Haşim İpek). You can ask what we hold about your device, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, by writing to support@omegax.app. Turning notifications off already deletes your registration. Our service providers (Cloudflare, Expo) process data on servers that may be outside your country. Priors is not directed at children under 13.
